About Heard Construction
Sam Heard, company founder, came to Florida in 1975 to work on the reconfiguration of Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A and Mobile Launcher Platform #3 for the Space Shuttle Program. Building on this experience he went to Wichita, Kansas in 1980 as Project Manager for the refurbishment of a Titan Missile Silo that had suffered extensive damage as a result of an oxidizer spill. Upon completion, he returned to Florida and worked on various Kennedy Space Center projects until Heard Construction, Inc. (HCI) was formed in 1990. Since inception, the company has evolved from self-performing numerous trades as a General Contractor to almost exclusively performing Design-Build and Construction Management Projects. HCI is proud of our team of professionals which are experienced in heavy structural, mechanical and electrical along with extensive facility renovations/renewals and greenspace projects.
